These three lovelies were loaded up last week and delivered to their new homes in Boston, Washington D.C., and Summit, New Jersey. It was great hand-delivering these pieces and checking in with client partners, including Huth Architects in Boston and Flatiron 27 in Manhattan.
This homeowner in Eastern Iowa completely modernized the look of a early 2000s-era home, mainly by updating surfaces and light remodeling: beautiful new floors, fresh wall paint, new kitchen countertop, cabinets and backsplash, new stone fireplace surround. The addition of a custom railing, rather than the plain oak rail that came with the house, takes the entry to a new level. Thanks to Custom Projects and Homes for the partnership.
We were honored to work with three homebuilders featured in the 2016 Des Moines Home Show at Coyote Ridge in Urbandale. Thanks to Arko’s Custom Homes, MCC (Midwest Contracting & Constructing), and Dreamscape Homebuilders for your vision and partnership. You guys are awesome.

We love cable rail. We just do. The steel frame (powder-coated silver here) plays well with pretty much any design aesthetic, and the cable allows other elements to shine. Like the stunning stone wall and fabulous horizontal windows in this Ironwood Homes new construction project.
We’re also digging the exposed-stringer look. Deconstructing and highlighting the bones of a staircase can be a beautiful thing. The builder-provided treads are in parallam, a super-strong engineered wood product made from clipped veneer strands laid in parallel alignment and bonded with adhesive. And it’s pretty.
Thanks to Ironwood Homes for pulling us in on this fun project.
We fabricated these steel stringers for a new construction project in Waukee, Iowa, for our friends at Ironwood Homes. Next come treads made from Parallam (a cool, OSB-like material made from clipped veneer strands laid in parallel alignment and bonded with adhesive) and a mild steel cable railing. Stay tuned.
We were thrilled to work with Dreamscape Homebuilders to create the stair and loft railings and wine rack for their beautiful Home Show build. The home has an urban loft-like feel, and the railings are a new design that incorporates horizontal lines and squares, all powder-coated in silver. Thanks to Dreamscape for allowing us to be a part of this fun project.
Digging the fresh curb appeal on this lovely home in Des Moines’ Beaverdale neighborhood. Oakwood Builders Group worked with the homeowners to add a new patio and updated landscaping. We designed and installed the patio and stair railing, constructed from 4-inch welded-wire mesh and powder-coated in statuary bronze.
Steel cable railing is simple, clean, and style-conforming (it goes with pretty much anything). We just wrapped up this porch and stair railing for a beautiful remodel in Clive, Iowa. The custom railing is made from stainless steel cable with a black powder-coated frame.
Cable railing is perfect for exterior porches, patios and decks—places you want the railing to complement its surroundings but also disappear into the horizon so that the vista becomes the focal point.
Custom steel railing for a stunning new build in Waukee for Pure Style Design + Build. Really fun project for delightful homeowners. Oh—and a custom hanging pot rack, too.
A sneak peek at a custom dining table (constructed from walnut + steel) and clean-lined open shelving for the kitchen of friends’ new vacation property.
